GOCLARK SPORTS AND EVENTS HOLD INAUGURAL DUATHLON EVENT IN NEW CLARK CITY

The GoClark Sports and Events held the inaugural duathlon race at New Clark City’s world-class and Olympic Grade Sports Facilities last July 17, 2022. Over 600 registered Duathletes tackled the long routes ahead of them under varying climate conditions.

The track is met with energetic spectators who shout their support as the contenders pass them by. There are competitors as far from Tuguegarao City. It is a testament that New Clark City is paving its way as a sports destination in the Philippines.

DISTANCE CATEGORIES

  • NCC Long (12 km run – 50 km bike – 6 km run)
  • NCC Short (6 km run – 25 km bike – 3 km run)
  • NCC Long Two-Person Relay (12 km run – 50 km bike – 6 km run) All Male, All Female, Mixed

RACE COURSE

The run course will cover the whole NGAC compound and will feature the River Park and the NCC Track Stadium. The bike course will feature the New Clark City to Clark International Airport and the New Clark City to SCTEX access roads.

With Clark being awarded as a Best Sports Destination in the Country, GoClark Sports and Events helps in maintaining that coveted status and title by organising a series of multisport events and advocating for an active lifestyle leading to a healthier mind and body which is actually crucial to have on our current battle with the pandemic. The momentum and energy are sustained by the upcoming Clark Cycling Classic, the New Clark City Multisport Weekend, with the New Clark City Triathlon as its highlight.

They were all thrilled and exhilarated with their triumphant finish, despite the exhaustion, their eyes blazed with excitement and gratitude. The humble spirit exudes from all of the winners and are all thankful for the support they have during their training and preparation for the duathlon race. The youngsters are excited to join future races like the Clark Cycling Classic and seek to beat the challenges for the title.

According to GoClark Race Director Jumbo Tayag, the duathlon race is organized to highlight Duathlon elites and serves an effective training for budding athletes. It is also a great avenue to search for new potential athletes that could be part of the National Team and bring home glory for the country.

The race ended with a surprising romantic blast, the duathletes and spectators witnessed a charming wedding proposal. After which, the couple finished the race together with the ring on.
