2GO Teams Up With SMX to Make Event Logistics Easier

Setting up for an event at the SMX Convention Center could soon become a lot easier, as 2GO partners with SMX Convention Center, Central Business Park (CBP), and SM Estates to streamline permits and logistics at the Mall of Asia Complex.

The partnership introduces the 2GO-SMX Events Logistics, a centralized permit and logistics facilitation system designed to make event operations more efficient for exhibitors, organizers, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.

At the heart of the initiative is a one-stop service model that brings permit processing and logistics coordination under a more centralized system.

One Point of Contact for Event Logistics

Formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the partnership aims to simplify permit applications and coordinate the movement of exhibit materials, event equipment, and deliveries within the SMX Convention Center.

Under the agreement, 2GO Forwarding will facilitate permit applications on behalf of contractors, coordinate endorsements with SM Estates, process submissions with CBP, and provide logistics support throughout the event cycle.

That covers ingress, event operations, and pull-out activities at SMX.

For exhibitors and event suppliers, that means fewer coordination points to manage when moving cargo and equipment into and out of the venue.

“Streamlining our work with SMX, CBP, and SM Estates is a reflection of our commitment to innovation across the logistics ecosystem,” said Faye Alonzo, 2GO Forwarding Business Unit Head.

She added that consolidating permit processing into an integrated end-to-end solution gives exhibitors and organizers a single point of contact, allowing them to move cargo more efficiently and with greater confidence.

A Simpler Process for Exhibitors and Organizers

Event logistics can involve several moving parts, from securing permits and vehicle access to coordinating deliveries and moving equipment into a venue.

The new partnership seeks to bring these processes into a more coordinated system.

According to Walid Wafik, Senior Vice President for Operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation, which manages SMX Convention Center, aligning the organizations’ expertise and resources will create a more seamless framework for venue logistics.

“This reinforces our dedication to delivering world-class experiences supported by efficient operational systems,” Wafik said.

The one-stop service model is also designed to reduce administrative work, minimize delays, and help organizers and contractors comply with estate and operational requirements.

SM Estates and CBP Strengthen Permit Coordination

SM Estates will play a key role in reviewing and endorsing permits under the new arrangement.

Jessel Kabigting, Senior Vice President for Development and Management of SM Estates, said the closer coordination enabled by the MOU can help make the permit process faster and simpler.

Meanwhile, Central Business Park President Erickberth Calupe stressed that CBP will continue to be the sole authority responsible for regulating permits, vehicle access, and applicable fees.

The partnership, he said, allows the parties to coordinate more closely and deliver their respective services in a more holistic way.

What the 2GO-SMX Partnership Means for Events

For companies staging exhibitions, conferences, trade shows, corporate events, and other gatherings at SMX, the new system puts greater focus on simplifying the logistics behind the event.

The 2GO-SMX Events Logistics system will support:

  • Permit application facilitation
  • Coordination with SM Estates
  • Permit submissions with Central Business Park
  • Exhibit and event cargo movement
  • Equipment deliveries
  • Ingress logistics
  • Event operations support
  • Pull-out activities

The MOU was signed by Faye Alonzo, Walid Wafik, Jessel Kabigting, and Erickberth Calupe, formalizing the collaboration between the four organizations.

For 2GO, the partnership adds another layer to its integrated transportation and logistics services, with a focus on making cargo movement and event operations easier for businesses.

As major events continue to bring exhibitors, suppliers, contractors, and attendees to the SMX Convention Center and Mall of Asia Complex, the centralized approach could make one of the less visible parts of event planning, getting everything into and out of the venue, easier to manage.
