Best Western Plus Subic Is Expanding, And It’s Worth Watching

Best Western Plus Hotel Subic is preparing for a major expansion, and it’s not a small upgrade.

The four-star hotel, located along Dewey Avenue inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, will soon add a brand-new building right beside its current property. The project comes with a reported P600-million price tag and is expected to bring more rooms, more facilities, and more reasons for travelers to consider Subic for their next quick escape.

The expansion was formalized during a contract signing between the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and developer Simon & Stanley International Trading and Development Co. Inc. The signing took place on March 31, 2026 at the SBMA Administration Building.

SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño led the signing together with Jaime “Jack” Uy, Chairman and CEO of Savers Group Holdings Inc., the company behind Best Western Plus Hotel Subic.

According to Architect Jayson Steffen Uy, Director of Simon & Stanley and Vice President for Facility and Construction of Savers Group Holdings, the upcoming building will add 120 more rooms. It will also include commercial spaces, restaurants, parks, and a three-level parking area, addressing one of the biggest challenges in busy tourism zones.

Uy said the expansion is driven by demand, especially for more rooms and function halls. While the initial figure mentioned is P600 million, he added that the company has committed up to P1 billion for the full project.

The design phase is expected to be completed within this year or by next year. Construction is targeted to begin as early as the first quarter of next year.

Uy also shared that the company plans to source manpower locally, with employment opportunities expected to open for residents within Subic.

SBMA officials including Director Ted Del Rosario, Senior Deputy Administrator Renato Lee III, and Senior Deputy Administrator Ramon O. Agregado were present during the signing ceremony.

Aliño welcomed the project, saying the Freeport continues to see growing demand for hotels and business establishments. Beyond the investment itself, he also pointed out that the expansion will bring additional jobs to the area.

Best Western Plus Hotel Subic holds a notable position in the Freeport, being the first internationally branded hotel to operate in the zone. Its location makes it a practical choice for visitors, sitting close to major commercial centers like Harbor Point Mall, which is only around an eight-minute walk away, and SM City Olongapo.

Savers Group Holdings Inc. also operates Best Western Plus Metro Clark in Angeles City and serves as the exclusive developer for Best Western Hotels in the Philippines.

For travelers, this expansion signals one thing clearly: Subic’s tourism scene isn’t slowing down, and the demand for better, bigger accommodations is only going up.
