Why Horizon Hotel Is a Practical Choice in Subic Bay Freeport Zone

Facade of Horizon Hotel

Horizon Hotel is a budget-friendly business hotel located at Lot 70 4 Canal Road in Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Opened in 2015 and Korean-owned, it has earned a reputation for offering one of the most affordable rates in the area while maintaining steady service quality. The hotel is a practical choice for business travelers, athletes, trainees, or families needing short-term stays during power interruptions.

Room Experience

The King-Sized Bed and Clother Hanger Nook

I stayed with Content Creator Just Janny for two nights, during the Third Central Luzon Sustainable Tourism Summit, in one of their Standard Premium Rooms. The room had a king-sized bed, private toilet and bathroom, working desk, air conditioning, and a personal-sized refrigerator. It also included a seating area for two guests and a separate welcome area. The space was clean and functional, I think, designed with convenience in mind for short stays or work trips.

My favorite corner at Horizon Hotel Subic

After a half day of the Subic Heritage Pre-conference Eco Tour, we had longer moments to stay in our assigned room. As a content creator, recharging our gadgets is a must and our room has lots of power outlets. No need to scramble for one. I don’t need to use my power extension cord as well. Moreover, the seats and table are just right for my posture and back support.

The Working Desk and Flat TV

For entertainment, I chose the Cable TV and left it on the news channel, as an old school soul. In my case, the wifi signal is stable at the corner beside the window. By the way, I sat there observing as well the colors of sunset cast over the skies.

Service is stellar as well. I remember I was nursing a cold back then needed a separate blanket. They delivered right away to our room. I was delighted as well when they delivered complimentary bottled water since I need to take my medicines that time. Check-in and check-out were fast and convenient as well.

Spacious Toilet and Shower Room

Before I call it night, of course, a warm shower is a must. Like other luxury hotels, the warm temperature was not a long wait. It was about instant soothing warm shower, the one I needed for my stuffy sinuses. The toilet also came with the most important and well-loved feature, the bidet. Water pressure is consistent as well.

This divine bed at Horizon Hotel Subic

In every stay, the bed is the most important element. At Horizon Hotel, I loved the mattress. Great back support. For two nights, never had a bad back or bad shoulders. Pillows are plush as well.

Breakfast Service

In-house restaurant

Breakfast is served plated-style in their restaurant. I ordered their Bangsilog and it was satisfying. The bangus was well-fried with a crisp exterior, paired with a cup of garlic rice and fried egg cooked just right. It’s a straightforward Filipino breakfast done well. Loved their vinegar dip as well.

In every accommodation, knowing the location is paramount. Horizon Hotel sat right beside commercial establishments, a spa, duty duty-free shops. It is also walking distance to a convenience store and Harbor Point Mall. Additionally, you can walk to the boardwalk in about 10-15 minutes to see the sunset and enjoy the seaside view. It is located in a corner where you can enjoy the privacy as well.

Flexibility and Arrangements

Horizon Hotel’s beautiful spiral staircase

The hotel has 33 rooms on the second floor and 27 on the first floor. They offer flexible hours for early check-in or special occasions when rooms are available. Special arrangements done ahead can be made for groups or individuals such as trainees, athletes, or business guests needing quick and affordable accommodation subject for availability. This type of flexible service is rare in our setup, as most hospitality establishments stick with their traditional check-in schedules.
