PLDT Home pushes AI and stronger connectivity for Filipina entrepreneurs this Women’s Month
Small online ventures that started during lockdown have grown into serious digital businesses across the Philippines. Many of them are run by women. This Women’s Month, PLDT Home is stepping up support for Filipina entrepreneurs by expanding access to AI tools and stable fiber connectivity.
The move reflects a shift in how businesses now operate. Sellers rely on livestream commerce, online marketplaces, automated systems, and AI tools for content, analytics, and customer service. Reliable internet has become the backbone of these daily operations.
Figures from the Philippine Commission on Women show how strong the role of women has become in the local business sector. Women now own 66 percent of small and medium enterprises in the country and lead 62 percent of newly registered businesses.
“Women entrepreneurs today are operating at the forefront of digital transformation,” said Menardo “Butch” Jimenez Jr., PLDT Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer. “Our goal is to ensure they have the connectivity, tools and AI capabilities that allow them not only to keep up, but to lead. Connectivity is now the backbone of innovation and inclusion.”

Digital businesses powered by fiber
Today’s home-based entrepreneurs often run complex digital operations. Livestream selling requires stable bandwidth. Orders move through automated systems. Payments are processed online. Customer inquiries are handled through AI-assisted chat tools.
High-speed fiber has become the infrastructure behind this setup. For many women entrepreneurs, stable connectivity supports everything from marketing content to cloud-based inventory systems.
PLDT Home continues to position itself as a partner for these businesses, providing the bandwidth needed to keep operations running without interruptions.
A growing community of women entrepreneurs
One clear example of this support is the rise of Madiskarte Moms PH. What started as a small online group has grown into one of the largest digital communities for Filipina entrepreneurs.
Powered by PLDT Home, the group now has more than 225,000 members across the country. Members share business advice, collaborate on ideas, and learn new digital skills that help them scale their ventures.
The community has become a support network for mothers and women balancing business, family, and digital work.

AI training returns through Gemini Academy
To help entrepreneurs keep pace with fast-changing technology, PLDT Home is relaunching the Gemini Academy with Google Philippines.
The training program will again be offered to the Madiskarte Moms PH community. This year’s modules go further, focusing on workflow automation, data-driven decision making, predictive insights, and responsible AI use.
The goal is practical. Participants learn how to integrate AI into daily tasks such as marketing content, customer service, and business analysis.
The program builds on last year’s sessions and reflects how quickly AI tools are becoming part of everyday business operations.

Celebrating women leading digital businesses
PLDT Home will also recognize women making an impact through technology-driven businesses.
The 4th Gawad Madiskarte Awards 2026 takes place on March 28, honoring women entrepreneurs building resilient companies that create jobs, strengthen supply chains, and support local communities.
The awards highlight how digital entrepreneurship can grow into sustainable businesses with real social impact.
Expanding opportunity through technology
PLDT Home’s Women’s Month initiatives focus on three areas. Stronger digital infrastructure, better AI education, and a community that supports women entrepreneurs.
The goal is straightforward. When women have the tools and connectivity needed to run digital businesses, opportunities expand for families and communities.
For women ready to grow their ventures, the Madiskarte Moms PH network remains open to new members.
