Buri Ramen and Sushi Bar is one of those places people mention casually, then keep returning to. Located in Balibago (right beside Sta. Maria Church), it opens at 4:00 PM and stays busy until midnight. The timing I think, says a lot. This is comfort food built for late afternoons that stretch into long nights. Imagine a warm, soothing bowl of ramen after a day’s work.
The name itself sets the tone. Burî means “like” in Kapampangan. Simple. Familiar. Easy to return to. The menu was developed by Chef Jake, who shaped the lineup before the restaurant’s soft launch on September 5, 2025.
Inside, the airconditioned dining area seats about 32 guests. Step outside and the alfresco space opens capacity to around 70 pax. It works for quiet dinners, group catch-ups, or unplanned late meals after hours nearby.
Let’s taste test! Start with the sushi rolls.

The Cheese Roll leans creamy and comforting. What makes it interesting is the layers of textures and creaminess.

The Dragon Roll brings deeper, ocean-creamy-umami-salmony flavors that hold their own without feeling heavy. Imagine shrimp and salmon per roll.

For raw selections, the Buri Sashimi is clean and direct. Fresh cuts, no excess. This is one of my top favorites in Buri. It is made of amberjack fish and harvested on a certain age which Japanese call us “Buri”.

The Nigiri Set B offers a balanced mix that suits diners who want variety without overthinking the order. If coming solo, you can try this. It has most of the flavors and textures I am craving for Japanese cuisine.

Taco sushi is where the menu loosens up. One of its unique menu items that is worth a try. I came back after few weeks and ordered all of these. The Ebi Taco delivers crunch with a slight sweetness. The Salmon Tuna Taco stays clean and layered. The Salmon Panko Taco adds texture that makes it easy to order again. However, my tummy can only fit 4 of these. Would definitely go back to try other dishes from the menu.

On the snack side, the Age Onigiri works well between dishes. Crisp on the outside, chewy and meaty filling inside. Explosion and layers of flavors and textures marry well inside my mouth.

The Tempura Platter is designed for sharing. Shrimp, mushrooms, sesame, carrots, eggplant, zucchini, squash, and shiitake mushroom arrive lightly battered and evenly fried. No grease buildup. No rush to stop eating. (Note: not yet in the menu as of January 2026 Priced at Php329*). Note: Best to consume upon serving, feel the crisp and crunchy plus the piping hot core.
As Asians, definitely these rice bowls anchor the menu. They are already paired with fresh tasting fizzes.

The Katsu Curry Don, served with Citrus Zen Fizz, balances richness of the spices and herbs with brightness of the pork cutlet.

The Gyudon, paired with Mango Twist, is savory, slightly sweet, and easy to finish. One of my top choices whenever I eat Japanese.
Ramen is the main draw for many regulars.

The Mala Ramen brings heat without overpowering the broth. The colors already speak your expectations.

The Tonkotsu Ramen is creamy and full, built for late-night comfort. A sip of it releases lots of porkiness.

The Midori Ramen feels lighter yet filling. Every sip and slurp is a joy.

The Shio Ramen stays clean, clear and restrained. If you have senior diners, they can try this bowl if they are not used with highly rich soup. When you say umami, this bowl comes after.
Beverages keep things playful.

Strawberry Yakult and Mango Yakult feel familiar and refreshing. Chia Chill Spritz cools things down while Matcha Mash Spritz ends slightly earthy and balanced.
Buri Ramen and Sushi Bar knows its audience. Late diners. Repeat visitors. People who want food that feels familiar but still keeps them curious. With a focused menu, steady hours, and a space that fits different moods, it quietly earns its place in Balibago’s food scene. If late-night cravings hit again, is this where you should be heading next?
