Mekeni Food Corporation strengthened its commitment to inclusive community health by supporting the Hospital on Wheels medical mission that served more than 1,000 residents in Barangay Cangatba, Porac.
Held at the Jose Songco Lapid Gymnasium, the two-day mission provided free medical, surgical, dental, and vision screening services, prioritizing indigenous peoples and underserved communities. Mekeni worked alongside Hospital on Wheels, the local government of Porac, and partner organizations to bring essential healthcare closer to remote populations.

Mekeni President Prudencio “Pruds” Garcia emphasized the power of collaboration, noting that the initiative continues the legacy of the company’s founders, who once taught indigenous communities in the mountains of Pampanga.
Hospital on Wheels founder Dr. Jim Sanchez thanked Mekeni and its partners for supporting the organization’s 18-year advocacy for accessible healthcare, while Vice Mayor Trisha “Jen” Capil highlighted the mission’s alignment with Porac’s goal of inclusive and people-centered health services.

The mission also distributed gift packs to indigenous families and children, reinforcing care beyond medical treatment. Mekeni’s third year of support reflects its sustained role in building health-focused partnerships that deliver real impact to communities.
