Manila, 5 March 2025 – AirAsia Rewards, the loyalty platform of Capital A (formerly AirAsia Group), has teamed up with SM Advantage Card (SMAC), the Philippines’ largest retail loyalty program, to bring more value to members of both programs. The collaboration, announced during a signing ceremony at the SM Retail Headquarters in Pasay City, promises exciting new ways for Filipino consumers to earn and redeem points, merging shopping and travel perks like never before.

The new partnership, called “My SMAC, My MOVE,” enables SMAC members to instantly convert their points into AirAsia rewards, and vice versa. With just a few taps on the AirAsia MOVE app, SMAC members can exchange 200 SMAC points for 300 AirAsia points, or convert 500 AirAsia points into 125 SMAC points. This innovative two-way point conversion makes it easier than ever for shoppers to unlock travel opportunities and for travelers to enjoy shopping rewards.

Nicole Tan, Chief Business Officer of AirAsia Rewards, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration: “We’re thrilled to team up with the Philippines’ largest loyalty program to offer a truly rewarding experience for both SMAC and AirAsia members. This partnership allows our members to make the most of their points, whether they’re shopping for everyday essentials or booking their next flight.”

AirAsia rewards points can now be redeemed not just for AirAsia flights but also for bookings with over 700 airlines, hotel stays, and a wide range of travel and lifestyle perks—conveniently accessible through the AirAsia MOVE app.

Patrick Cua, Chief Operating Officer of SMAC, added: “We are excited to bring together the best of both shopping and travel rewards for our members. This partnership enhances the value of the SMAC program, offering more ways to enjoy the benefits of loyalty.”

Ricky Isla, CEO of AirAsia Philippines, highlighted the wider impact of the partnership: “We’re confident that this collaboration will fuel the growth of the travel and tourism sector in the Philippines. It’s a great way to make travel more accessible and rewarding for Filipinos.”

The partnership is set to change the way Filipino consumers shop and travel, offering endless possibilities to earn, convert, and redeem points. Whether you’re a frequent shopper or a travel enthusiast, this collaboration opens the door to a world of rewarding experiences.
