Manila, Philippines – March 5, 2025 – Grab Philippines is taking a bold step toward environmental sustainability with the official launch of its Green Programme, reinforcing its commitment to eco-friendly initiatives across its ride-hailing and delivery services.
At the heart of this initiative is a new toggle-on feature, allowing users to directly support environmental conservation efforts with just a few taps. In collaboration with Fostering Education & Environment for Development, Inc. (FEED), EcoMatcher Ltd, and the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary Project, Grab is making it easier than ever for its community to make a difference.
How Users Can Contribute

With every ride or delivery, users can voluntarily donate a small amount toward sustainability efforts:
- PHP 2.00 for each GrabCar or GrabTaxi ride
- PHP 1.00 for every GrabFood or GrabMart order
Mangrove Planting in La Union
One of the program’s key initiatives is a mangrove reforestation project in Dulao Village, La Union, executed in partnership with EcoMatcher and FEED. This community-driven project aims to rehabilitate coastal ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for local farmers.
Easy Opt-In for Users

Joining the movement is seamless. Grab users can simply go to “Account” > “Support the Environment” and toggle the option on or off. This feature is also accessible at checkout before confirming a ride or delivery, making sustainability a convenient choice.
“As part of our mission to drive positive change, Grab is committed to using technology to instill a culture of sustainability among our users, driver-partners, and merchants across the Philippines,” said Greg Camacho, Director for Strategy at Grab Philippines. “We’re grateful for the support of our fellow Filipinos in launching this initiative, and we will continue to find innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint and make our services even greener.”
Regional Environmental Efforts
Beyond the Philippines, the Green Programme also backs the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary Project, which spans nearly 300,000 hectares of protected land and safeguards 75 threatened species. This initiative meets globally recognized environmental standards, including the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) certification.
Sustainability at Grab
The Green Programme is part of Grab’s wider sustainability agenda, which includes:
- Plastic waste reduction – Enabling customers to opt out of cutlery in food deliveries.
- Electric vehicle adoption – Partnering with BYD to introduce EVs for driver-partners across Southeast Asia.
- Food waste reduction – Collaborating with Starbucks through the FoodShare Program, which redistributes unsold food to communities in need via the Philippine Food Bank Foundation.
With the launch of the Green Programme, Grab Philippines is setting a new standard for eco-conscious urban mobility and delivery services, empowering users to make sustainable choices—one ride and one order at a time.
