Cebu Pacific Takes the Lead with Clark Growth and Record-Breaking Numbers

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading airline, began 2025 with an engaging media roundtable at Quest Plus Hotel and Conference Clark, outlining ambitious plans for the future. This event marked a moment as the airline shared milestones from 2024 and its vision for sustainable growth in the coming years. Among the invited media attendees were those from Ilocos Norte, Bulacan, Pangasinan, and Baguio City.

Historic Record-Breaking Aircraft Order

Ms. Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, described 2024 as a year of resetting and recovery. “We’ve stabilized our network and reestablished key hubs,” she stated. Cebu Pacific also achieved a milestone with the largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history, securing 152 aircraft from Airbus. The fleet expansion includes 102 A321neo and 50 A320neo planes, with all deliveries expected by 2029. This commitment underscores Cebu Pacific’s dedication to providing a more stable and sustainable network.

A Look Back at 2024

In January 2024, Cebu Pacific achieved a 103% recovery of its systemwide network, flying approximately 12,000 flights and offering 2.3 million seats. Strategic decisions, including a wet lease with Bulgaria Air to address Pratt & Whitney engine challenges, enabled the airline to maintain service reliability. By the end of 2024, Cebu Pacific operated 94 aircraft and achieved an impressive on-time performance of 80.81% in March, paired with a net promoter score of 40 by September.

Clark Hub Growth

Cebu Pacific’s Clark International Airport hub posted the airline’s biggest growth rate in 2024. The Clark hub saw a dramatic 102% increase in seat availability, from 79,000 in January 2024 to 161,000 by January 2025. Similarly, the flight count nearly doubled, rising by 97% from 441 in January 2024 to 872 in January 2025.

Ms. Iyog referred to this progress as a “virtuous cycle for Clark,” driven by growing passenger demand and the airline’s strategic investment in the hub. Cebu Pacific flew over 1 million passengers to and from Clark in 2024, marking a 36% year-on-year increase. This growth positions Clark as a vital gateway for travelers from Central and Northern Luzon and Northern NCR, connecting them to key domestic and international destinations. Additionally, Clark International Airport assures passenger convenience with its strategic links, state-of-the-art amenities and modern aesthetics that we Filipinos will be proud of.

Systemwide Growth in Numbers

The airline anticipates even greater growth in 2025:

  • Systemwide flights: from 12,000 in January 2024 to 15,000 in January 2025.
  • Systemwide seats: from 2.3 million to 2.9 million.
  • Routes: from 104 to 116.

Clark will remain a focal point, with Cebu Pacific connecting passengers to international destinations like Bangkok, Hong Kong, Narita, and Singapore; while domestic destinations such as Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Davao, Iloilo, General Santos and Puerto Princesa.

The Philippine Growth Story

Ms. Iyog emphasized Cebu Pacific’s confidence in the Philippine growth narrative. With the country’s GDP projected to grow and maintain at 6-6.5% until 2029, a young, dynamic population drives both the economy and travel demand. Additionally, infrastructure improvements beyond Metro Manila enable the airline to expand strategically, maximizing the airport locations within a four-hour flight radius covering a staggering regional Asian area of two billion serviceable population – spanning from Japan, China, South Korea and the SEA nations.

Looking Ahead: Sustainability and Accessibility

As part of its sustainability initiatives, Cebu Pacific launched its “Fly to Happy, Fly to the Philippines” campaign at Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, inspiring travelers worldwide to visit the Philippines. This aligns with its mission to provide accessible and hassle-free travel experiences while supporting eco-friendly practices.

With ongoing seat sales and expanded routes, Cebu Pacific invites travelers to explore the Philippines and beyond. As 2025 unfolds, the airline continues to deliver on its promise of affordable, reliable, and sustainable air travel.

2025 Kick Off Sale
