It was a strategic choice as we stayed because of the two-day Central Luzon Sustainability Tourism Summit held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center.

As soon as I stepped into my Family Suite, I was instantly captivated by its calming interiors. The room was thoughtfully designed, with decor inspired by the vibrant coral reefs—a refreshing nod to the ocean that surrounds Subic Bay. The suite featured a double bed and a single bed, both dressed in soft, inviting linens that promised a restful sleep. The toilet and bath were nice, with a spacious lavatory, a large vanity mirror, and a hot-and-cold shower. The room’s meticulous attention to detail, including a towel rack and neatly placed bath amenities, made me feel pampered.
What I also love about the suite is its kitchenette—complete with a personal refrigerator, bar table, microwave, and separate sink. It was ideal for guests who enjoy preparing quick snacks, and meals or keeping drinks cool. The coffee and tea facility added a homey touch, making my mornings feel even more indulgent. But perhaps the most breathtaking feature of all was the balcony that overlooked the bay. From there, I watched the gentle waves and the vibrant hues of the bay area—a sight that can only be described as mesmerizing. During our check-in, dedicated concierge staff offered to bring my luggage and assisted us to the room. There are no elevators yet.
Inside, I found additional comforts, such as a large flat Smart television with cable channels for some leisurely viewing and a cozy sofa perfect for curling up with my good book. For those who mix work with pleasure, the suite also offered a working and writing nook—a well-thought-out space where I could easily catch up on emails while enjoying the bay view. The Wi-Fi signal is also stable inside Room 207.
Interiors and Thoughtful Details
One of the unique aspects I loved about The Reef Hotel and Residences was its attention to aesthetic detail. The stairwell, situated directly above the reception, provided an architectural charm that set the tone for the entire stay. Each floor had a receiving area, where you could take in panoramic views of the Waterfront Park—a peaceful, verdant contrast to the tranquil bay. It was in these moments, looking out at the greenery, that I truly felt the hotel’s relaxing ambiance.

Another feature of my stay was the plated breakfast service. My morning began with a delicious Tapsilog—a classic Filipino breakfast of cured beef, garlic rice, and egg—delivered right to my room. This in-room dining option added an extra layer of convenience, allowing me to enjoy a hearty meal while savoring the view from my balcony. As of our stay, they have no breakfast buffet service.

If you need a quick snack, toiletries, or other essentials, having a 24-hour open store nearby makes the stay even more hassle-free. The hotel’s strategic location is another plus, especially for those with business at the SBMA offices. It is also ideally situated for catching the stunning Subic Bay sunsets, which paint the sky in breathtaking shades of orange and pink. Additionally, the property is just a few strides away from the famous Subic Baywalk area which lots of tourists love to visit. More commercial establishments, cafes, restaurants, and bars are also just within a stone’s throw distance.

What truly made my stay memorable was the heartfelt service from the front office team. From the moment I checked in until the time I left, the staff were attentive, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their warmth made the experience all the more relaxing and enjoyable. By the end of my stay, I felt completely recharged, calm, and rejuvenated—a feeling I hadn’t realized I needed until I experienced it.
