Experience Farm style Staycation at the serene countryside of
Tarlac at Estancia de Lorenzo
Our urban souls could be stressed and weary enough by the daily sheer hustle and bustle, coupled with the effects of digital stress and agony. A quiet getaway and staycation is the best remedy and Estancia de Lorenzo in Tarlac is the recommended destination. Experience the slow way of life with the convenience of hotel-like features and amenities and the warm accommodation of the staff.
Estancia de Lorenzo-Tarlac is located in the countryside in the municipality of Capas – a strategic location at the crossroads between the economic progress of Metro Clark and Metro Baguio. It is accessible both via McArthur Highway and via SCTEX. It is about a 7-10 minute drive from the national highway junction passing through a residential zone. From there, it is hard to miss the huge signage highly visible at the left side of the road.
THE RECEPTION BUILDING
Unlike the usual hotel staycation which makes everything within easy reach, you have to consider the massive space you would enjoy in a farm staycation. Like Estancia de Lorenzo, the buildings are spaced a bit far apart, with a considerable walk or drive to each facility, thus, describing its expansive space. You would not feel cramped or confined elsewhere. Savour nature and fresh air to help you recover and recharge. The Reception and Front Office Hall is located on a separate building which is identifiable as a huge modern barn style with a signature roof thatching and lumber patterns decorating its facade.
Upon entering the Front Office, we are welcomed with warm Filipino Brand Insignia gestures and smiles. It was exhilarating to meet Sir Edd Duenas again in person! We are handed the room keys assigned and instructions are provided along with the rules and regulations of the farm resort.
THE ACCOMMODATION BUILDING
About a few meters, I tried to walk to the accommodation building to begin documenting and to savour the quiet and serene surroundings of Estancia de Lorenzo.
The Room assigned to me is a Small Twin Room of about roughly 17 square meters. The Twin Room features two futon beds, a private toilet and bath, an air conditioning unit, a flat-screen TV, Wardrobe and a Working Desk perfect for digital nomads. I am lucky to have the lower corner room with large windows that has a direct view of the elegant swimming pool and the spacious lawn. Upon checking in, I instantly drew up the blinds to allow natural light for the perfect relaxing feel. A bit of natural sunshine truly helps control one’s mood. Apart from that, the natural greeneries surrounding added up to the serene and recharging atmosphere.
The Futon Single Bed offered a great respite at night with nice back support. The beddings feature a comforter and clean sheets neatly tucked. The Cable TV has surprisingly more channels compared to other hotels I have stayed in. I missed the thrill of changing channels for the choice of entertainment or show we are looking for. Despite the small space of the Toilet and Bath, I am happy that they have a working hot and cold shower. I love a warm shower after a day’s documenting and activity during a staycation review. The Shower and Lavatory have steady water pressure, so you won’t fear screaming for help with suds on your head and face. It also comes with a working bidet which we Asians truly love.
Overall, the Small Twin Room feels a bit cramped, however, the windows and the room amenities available are a good compromise.
THE SWIMMING POOL
The outdoor swimming pool is my favourite amenity inside this farm resort. Both aesthetic and function, I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. First, the water temperature did not cause me to chill. The water clarity is top-notch, and I think that not many chemicals are used for treatment. The waterfall setup at the rear end of the pool is a great feature, and I took advantage of it for a bit of a water spa experience.
At the other end of the pool, they have a separate shower room and toilets for the guests’ convenience. Also, you can request separate pool towels, a friendly staff will bring you upon request. Be mindful of organizing your extra towels and return them appropriately after use.
The swimming pool is separated by a walkable partition – great for your social media posts after your relaxing staycation. The deepest portion I think is about 5 feet, and a shallow portion for the kids on the other side of the partition. The swimming pool is surrounded by lush greenery, hence, the healing touch of mother nature is not that farfetched. Since it is an outdoor pool, expect some insects flying around, especially at sunset. I got some nasty bites on my exposed areas.
THE BALAI DE LORENZO RESTAURANT
After a day’s adventure and frolicking, delight in their captivatingly aesthetic cafe. Your cravings for caffeinated beverages or fresh fruit smoothies can be quenched here. They offer as well all-day breakfast set meals, and a curated menu for that picky palate. The Cafe features a mezzanine where more guests get to experience dining in a farm resort.
THE POOL BAR AND SPACIOUS LAWN
You can opt to order beverages at the Pool Bar and enjoy quick and intimate bonding there. Also, you can opt to enjoy some snacks or your meals here. You can enjoy your breakfast as well at the al fresco area, dining under the canopy with the view of the swimming pool.
You can actually hold events like intimate family gatherings or corporate team building thanks to the massive space it entails. At night, there are strings of bulbs above you to create that romantic warm glow against the green surroundings.
FARM ACTIVITIES
Never leave Estancia de Lorenzo Tarlac without experiencing their farm activities. Experience the slow life and learn how food production begins with our consumption chain. Have your kids and young ones see and explore how farm animals are tended and cared for and let them learn their impact on our food cycle.
Farm Activities seem to be simple, but the lessons they share will make you understand the sacrifices of our farmers, and the challenges of the agricultural industry just to bring food to every table of the Filipinos.
Feel free to visit their Front Desk or ask any staff available for the arrangement of your farm activities.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
My heartfelt thanks to Sir Climb and Sir Ed for finally making my Estancia de Lorenzo Tarlac staycation possible. It was truly memorable and captivating, having almost 24 hours stay at their charming yet expansive farm. All of the staff present were accommodating and truly exuded that unique brand of Filipino hospitality. I am as if their extended family staying at their own home. Those quick exchanges of stories with them gave me a deeper understanding of how complex are the operations of such a farm resort. From the hospitality side up to the research studies they do for the improvement of quality and yield. I am mesmerized by how their synergy brought together this unforgettable farm staycation and would be happy to share it with the world.
