Clark International Airport Terminal 2 Open House Tour

It is an unprecedented move to open such public activity in one of the strictest access which is an airport terminal. We are blessed that the Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation has organized this kind of event for the general public to marvel at the architectural and iconic wonder of the Terminal 2 of Clark International Airport.

It was April 30, 2022, when Terminal 2 opened its doors to the public and to its future passengers. The Open House activity provided access to its various key sections and somehow provided a feel of how we would fly via the new airport terminal building.

The New Terminal 2 Building is accessible via Gil Puyat Ave in Clark Freeport Zone, the nearest toll exit is via CLARK NORTH EXIT if coming from NLEX-SCTEX. Another access is through the Clark Mabalacat Gate or the Angeles-Mabalacat Bypass Road which starts at SM City Clark.

We arrived at a wide parking space beside the spacious bus terminal, fronting the iconic facade of the new airport building. We reached the Departure Deck through the Elevator featuring clear glass automatic doors.

To start our open house tour, we are greeted by a female security officer with a gentle Mabuhay Gesture with noticeable smiling eyes. We entered now one of the most amazing and awe-inspiring high ceilinged terminals with the crisscrossing wood details supporting the undulated roof design. I can’t help but stare momentarily at this iconic architectural masterpiece. It really deserves a spot in an International Architectural Contest.

This is my sticker registration, need to have before accessing the Airport Terminal Building.

It is exciting that there are food and beverage kiosks already operating at this early days. There are coffee shops, local dessert stores and mainstream fast-food.

Here are the photos per section of the Aiport Building.

DEPARTURE LEVEL

The Departure Bay where passengers would alight and bring along one significant other to assist them during check-in. From here, you can view the adjacent bus station and soon underground train station terminal linking Clark to NCR.

The floor-to-ceiling glass wall lets you enjoy the panoramic view of the Cabusilan Mountain Range from the west, an d Mt. Arayat to the east.

Check-In Counters – one of the great features of Clark Terminal 2 are the contactless self check-in kiosk where you can connect your smartphone to the dedicated electronic kiosks.

Another feature is self baggage drop area after successful self checking-in from the standalone kiosks.

BOARDING GATES / TUBE / DEPARTURE AREA

This is one of the best section of the new terminal building, you can wait for your boarding announcement while being under the iconic ceiling. We were able to access both Domestic and International Departure Zone.

ARRIVAL LEVEL

The Arrival Level is situated below the Departure Area, it will lead you Immigration Kiosks and International Transfer Desks.

BAGGAGE COLLECTION

The Ceiling Design of the Arrival Hall is akin to the Narita Airport in Japan. IT is also features ultraspacious area which is indeed ready for influx of many passengers. Toilets are also strategically located around the hall.

RESTAURANTS / FOOD KIOSKS LEVEL

The Restaurant Area is located above the Departure Area, like a Mezzanine Floor or Loft.
